I'm a multilingual (Spanish, Dutch, Papiamentu & English), instructional designer based in Florida. Since I am from the Caribbean island of Curacao, I have a unique perspective that informs the way I design. For me designing a new learning experience isn't just about getting the job done, it's about the complete package, the look, feel, and usability, of the course.
I am a minimalist in every aspect of my life, except maybe when it comes to hiking! My aesthetic is clean and sleek, clutter and I do not get along. But above all, I want my work to be visually appealing and clear to the user. It doesn't matter how nice something looks, if it doesn't convey the message properly or isn't user friendly, it is of no use.
I love exploring and with exploration comes learning. I am always looking to learn new things, new approaches, new techniques, new ideas. I am a very open person and that allows me to customize my projects to the needs of the specific client. Since I am naturally quiet, I am very observant and listen way more than I talk. This allows me to really hear what the customer wants and needs before I present my ideas.
I'm a futbol (soccer) enthusiast, hiker, adventure-seeker, travel loving, detail-oriented, quiet individual. The pictures below give a glimpse into those attributes except the quiet part, since they do say a picture is worth 1,000 words!
